Breakthrough Cancer Research invites you to support us by climbing Ireland’s Highest Peak – Carrauntoohil – in September & October 2025!
We are very excited to host this iconic hike again this year with our expert guides at Kerry Climbing! All you have to do is choose the day you want to hike:
Day 1: Saturday, 6th September, 2025
or
Day 2: Saturday, 4th October, 2025
With trained guides to support you both before and during the climb. You’ll receive all the information you need, including what to bring, how to get there and what to wear, ensuring you make the most of this incredible experience. Carrauntoohil is a must-do for many, and this is your chance to check it off your list!
Starting Time: 9:30am, you will need to arrive to Cronin’s Yard for 9:10am to get you signed in.
Starting Point: Cronin’s Yard.
Duration: 6- 7 hours.
Please note: Ensure you are properly equipped. You may not be allowed to participate if not adequately prepared.
How to get involved?
- Registration Fee: €50.
- Fundraising target: €300, your fundraising page will automatically set up once you are registered.
Spaces for these hikes are limited – we can bring 36 with us on each date.

What to bring on the hike
- Weather conditions in the mountains of Ireland can and do change extremely rapidly and conditions on the tops and the higher you climb will be very different to that in the valleys.
- Kerry Climbing has highlighted the following items which are regarded as essential for high-level hill walking in Ireland and it is vital that participants be fully prepared for and have the necessary gear to deal with the varied and at times severe conditions experienced in the wild Irish mountain environment.
