Breakthrough Cancer Research invites you to support us by climbing one of Ireland’s Highest Peaks – Croagh Patrick aka ‘The Reek’ on Saturday, May 17th, 2025. 

Croagh Patrick is the fourth highest mountain in Connacht. Overlooking Clew Bay in County Mayo, Ireland, it stands at 764 meters (2,507 feet) tall and has a distinctive pyramid-shaped peak.

With professionally trained guides to support you both before and during the climb, you will be well looked after when you climb with us. You’ll receive all the information you need, including what to bring, how to get there, and what to wear, ensuring you make the most of this incredible experience. Croagh Patrick is a must-do for many, and this is your chance to check it off your list!

What to bring on the hike

  • Weather conditions in the mountains of Ireland can and do change extremely rapidly and conditions on the tops and the higher you climb will be very different to that in the valleys.
  • Kerry Climbing has highlighted the following items which are regarded as essential for high-level Summer hill walking in Ireland and it is vital that participants be fully prepared for and have the necessary gear to deal with the varied and at times severe conditions experienced in the wild Irish mountain environment.
