We are delighted to announce that we are a main beneficiary of the Ring of Kerry Charity Cycle 2025,
which takes place this year on Saturday, July 5th, 2025.

This iconic cycling event, renowned for its breathtaking 170km route around the picturesque Ring of Kerry, will help fund the vital work of Breakthrough Cancer Research – Making More Survivors of cancer through research.

A Shared Vision for a Healthier Future

By partnering with the Ring of Kerry Charity Cycle, Breakthrough is proud to unite communities, volunteers, and cyclists from all walks of life under one common cause: to save lives through innovative cancer research.

‘We are thrilled and honoured to be named a main beneficiary of the Ring of Kerry Charity Cycle again this year’, says Orla Dolan, Chief Executive of  Breakthrough Cancer Research. ‘Not only does this event bring communities together and celebrate Ireland’s natural beauty, but it also creates a transformative impact in cancer research. The funds raised through the Ring of Kerry Charity Cycle will help us accelerate discoveries and fund groundbreaking cancer research for people with cancer.’

Why the Ring of Kerry Charity Cycle Matters to Breakthrough

  1. Pioneering Research: The funds raised are directed toward early-stage and clinical research projects aimed at preventing and treating poor prognosis cancers where new breakthroughs are urgently needed.
  2. Community Empowerment: Each cyclist, donor, and volunteer becomes an essential partner in making more survivors of cancer, helping to turn hope into tangible advances in cancer research.
  3. Positive National Impact: This flagship event has a proven track record of raising significant funds for Irish charities, directly benefiting patients and families across the country and beyond.

Claire Reynolds who took part in the 2024 event commented ‘I came over the finish line on the day, so emotional and crying my eyes out, not because I completed the cycle, but because I could come across the finish line and FaceTime my Mum, because she was still here with me to celebrate! The whole reason I chose Breakthrough Cancer Research was because of my incredible Mum, who had endometrial cancer – without the incredible researchers, I wouldn’t have my Mum today.’
