The HSE and National Cancer Control Programme are encouraging people with any signs of cancer not to ignore your symptoms or delay ringing your GP due to Covid-19 restrictions. Possible symptoms might be a new or changing lump, abnormal bleeding, a skin change, losing weight unintentionally or feeling constantly tired.
For most people these symptoms are not cancer related. But your GP can speak with you over the phone and work out the best plan for you, including making a referral for specialist cancer services if needed. The earlier your GP checks out your symptoms the better your chance of successful treatment.
Check out this video for more information.
Protecting yourself from coronavirus is important. But if you, or a family member, is experiencing symptoms that might be cancer, please call your GP.
